In my novel The Raven of Brynfael, the main character seldom experiences the true horror that the common folk of the kingdoms endure. Most of the inhabitants are simple, hard working folk. But even among the commoners there are those who strive heroically against the relentless Ashenmarch.

Some are simple warriors, defending their village & their families as best they can. Some forge steel & armor for those who fight, and yet others travel the smoky taverns and share songs and stories...

The Kingdom of Brynfael is burning, and the age of honor is ending. Sir Hywel the Oathbearer has kept his vows through war, fire, and loss.

But when the smoke of the Ashenmarch rises over the fallen cities and villages of his Kingdom he questions what honor means to a world that has forgotten it.

Haunted by the ashes of his order and the promises that bind him still, Hywel must decide whether to keep his oaths or break them and let the world burn.
